Ife Alaba (Born Ifeoluwa Alaba on June 10, 1999) is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. She grew up in South Africa with a strong musical background spanning from being in choirs, orchestras, undergoing opera training, and undertaking the trombone. Ife began her music career after moving to Canada, as a performer at the Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2017.
“Boy Meets girl” is the latest five track EP released under the profiles of these Canadian gems Ife Alaba and King Sway and we are thrilled to hear that. This anticipated EP is filled with addictive songs with impressive verses and well chorused pieces that need to be heard all day long! ‘Home’ opens the release to an attention-demanding beginning before the the thought provoking verses from Sway kicks in. We adore the memorable melody that will have you singing along in no time. ‘Slipping’ is a stand-out song with attitude and grit. Ife and Sway’s soulful and smokey vocals sing out and take the album reins. Alaba uncorks this piece with rhymes along a rhythmic beat when Sway stepped in awesomely.
In addition, ‘vibes’ takes the album in a fresh direction with a slower pace. The relatable lyrics shine through and touch the audience. As the EP continue to unfold, Winter (2 AM)-remix’ features gorgeous chordal progressions and an intelligent arrangement.We adore the lyrics that draws the listener in with their authentic vibe and charismatic delivery. Moreover, the track, ‘The Deep,’ evolves before the listener, end the EP with the catchy melody while the chorus is divine.
Ife Alaba and King Sway are set to make an impact, putting on for their community, and destined for stardom, one by one creating a swarm of devoted fans and believers.
