Dreams don’t come with instructions—“there’s no guiding map”—and neither does the process of turning raw emotion into music that moves people. But Rise has managed to do exactly that with their latest single, Dreams. This track doesn’t just sound like hope—it feels like it.

From the very beginning, Dreams lifts off with a synth glow that shimmers like early morning light. The guitars chime in next, full of air and motion, giving the track a breezy, open-road atmosphere. Underneath, the rhythm section hits with purpose—tight, urgent, and always pushing forward. There’s no lag, no meandering—just a constant drive toward something better.

Lyrically, the song gets straight to the heart. Lines like “When all around is falling down and I just held my head” reflect the quiet struggle so many face. But instead of lingering in the shadows, the chorus pulls the listener up: “Dreams, we do our best to plan. Hopes, we do the best we can.” That plainspoken wisdom delivers a kind of comfort, like a friend who doesn’t pretend to have the answers but knows how to walk alongside the unknown.

Rise’s lead vocals are especially powerful here. There’s a rasp in the delivery that feels worn-in and real, like someone who’s been through it but refuses to give in. The harmonies—subtle, smooth, and full of emotion—bring warmth to every verse. Meanwhile, Paul Kinley’s keyboards light the corners of the song with a nostalgic flair, recalling the grand synth moments of 80s icons, while guitarist Brian Petch adds a cinematic sweep with soaring riffs. Drummer Alex Mahoney keeps it grounded with sharp, energetic beats that never lose momentum.
