Gianfranco GFN’s Giomanè album: A Rich Blend of Soul, Groove, and Jazz

Gianfranco GFN returns with purpose, poise, and a deep sense of groove on his fifth studio album Giomanè, released June 6, 2025. This project is not just a collection of songs, it is a lived journey, shaped by time, travel, and trust in musical instinct. Recorded across Switzerland and the Ivory Coast and mixed and mastered in Italy, Giomanè feels global yet intimate, polished yet organic.

The album opens its world with intention, but it is important to note that the song titled Giomanè is a standalone single and does not count toward the album’s 13 tracks. At just over two minutes, it sets the tone beautifully. Gentle drum rolls introduce a soothing reggae inspired feel, followed by a warm male vocal that instantly settles in. Around the 17 second mark, the tempo lifts briefly, adding a spark of motion before returning to its relaxed groove. It is a perfect curtain raiser into the universe Gianfranco calls GIAZZ.

That universe lives at the crossroads of groove, soul, and acid jazz, with touches of pop, funk, and blues flowing naturally throughout. From the opening track Sing the Song to the playful bounce of Jumping Around, each record carries a moment of life, love, reflection, or movement. In My Dreams and When You Have Gone lean into emotional honesty, while Doctor Wind and Supernatural show the band’s confidence and rhythmic daring. My Sunday Morning feels like exactly what the title promises, unhurried and sincere.

Gianfranco GFN’s guitar work anchors the album with elegance, supported by David Caraccio’s bass and keyboards and the expressive vocals of Vladimir Carbone. The backing vocal team adds warmth and lift, while a powerful horn section recorded in Abidjan brings color and energy. With 15 musicians involved, Giomanè thrives on real interaction. You can hear players listening to each other, breathing together, letting the songs unfold naturally.

As Gianfranco himself shares, groove is not only on stage, it is in life. Giomanè captures that philosophy fully.
