For his first appearance on this site, The New Citizen Kane returns with a bold, boundary-pushing statement in Psychedelika pt.1, a 17-track, 59-minute album that plays like a kaleidoscopic diary of modern life. Equal parts intimate confession and surreal escape, the project explores love, anxiety, philosophy, nightlife, and resilience—setting the stage for Part 2, due in late 2026.
On the production front, Psychedelika pt.1 is fearless in its range. It’s quirky, stylish, and emotionally rich, driven by male vocals that feel human and unguarded. Kane isn’t chasing trends here—he’s building a universe. And he means that literally. Released one month ahead of streaming platforms via his own Citizen Records, the album arrives in digital and limited-edition physical formats (CD and colour vinyl with lyric/art booklet), unlocking access to an ambitious companion app that expands the album into a living ecosystem.
At its core, Psychedelika pt.1 is about journeys inward and outward. “My Muse” stands as one of the album’s emotional anchors, chronicling Kane’s return to music after nearly a decade away, rejecting hollow definitions of success in favor of vulnerability and creative truth. “Afterglow” is equally arresting—a stripped-back confrontation with anxiety and the quiet strength found in naming it. These moments of openness are balanced by sharp conceptual turns, like “Heads Are Round,” which spins Francis Picabia into a neon spiral of art, thought, and motion.
Nightlife takes center stage on “Ratbag Joy,” where dark lyrical themes hide beneath bouncy, euphoric beats, mirroring the way pain is often masked by late-night lights. Meanwhile, “WELL, DAMN! HERE YOU ARE” delivers disco-tinged introspection, capturing the push and pull of desire and regret with biting honesty—anchored by the memorable refrain, “You’re goody goody, gosh, but you’re bad bad bad for me.”

Beyond the music, the Psychedelika app deepens the experience with a full visual album, direct artist journals, synesthesia-inspired games, mindfulness practices, and community features—blurring the line between album, art installation, and inner journey.
