BLOOD is the tenth studio album by american singer songwriter Joshua Ketchmark. It follows up the 2021 album 'The Huntington Hotel.' The album was produced and mixed by Ketchmark and document's Ketchmarks past. Ketchmark has stated that the album is based on true events and that the title is inspired not only by the lyrical subject matter but also by those involved with the making of the record. All of the songs on BLOOD were written by Ketchmark.
The impression of the 12 track Album is ambiguous though. On one side, it is relaxing and calming; you can easily listen for the whole day in the same breath. On the other hand, if you listen to it more than once, you’ll probably notice in general, that “Blood” sounds rather stupefy.
The most comfy part of the song is the main vocals by Ketchmark. Energetic and infectiously catchy, Blood expands on Ketchmark distinct sound with strong production quality and a uniquely modern sound. Also on a positive note, “Blood” is not jarring to listen to. Moreover, how the lyrics combine with the music works well. Some parts of the songs are driving and well constructed. Overall “Blood” is a pretty sweet album.
Vulnerable and honest, “Blood” reflects on the trials and tribulations that come with love. Something that can make you feel better than anything else which also has the ability to do the opposite. Ketchmark passionately explores this duality in an approachable and catchy way.
Through both the poetic verses and the groovy chorus he manages to be personable and down to Earth. As memorable as it is just enjoyable to listen to. At the end of the day, what truly matters is how nice a song is to listen to, and “Blood” is absolutely phenomenal. There’s no better time to dive into his euphoric sound. Stream “Blood” now!
