In any case, it's a good thing Randy Berth is there to keep things down to earth stylistically, because run is off in an entirely different galaxy and is about as normal as she gets, and even then, those synthesized vocals and that dense industrial sound are hard to ignore.
And again, the colors they conjure create such a potent and touching atmosphere, making it hard to move on to the closing allegro, which is performed with infectious energy and great finesse. Randy’s recording is fabulous: clear and resonant, the two instruments beautifully balanced. The liner notes are exceptional, with introductory notes truly honoring the sense of creative artist.
Sure, it will suck that you can’t listen to Randy Berth anymore after you are dust … but no one really knows that answer. For now, listen to it while you can …
