Love Ghost takes listeners on a stirring emotional journey with their new 4-track EP "The Speed of Dreaming." Recorded in Mexico City with various talented collaborators, the collection carries evocative themes of dreams and imagination through the alternative rock outfit's signature eclectic style.
Kicking off the EP is "Be Not Afraid," produced by Alex Pedrero, a soaring pop-punk song about the highs and lows of love. Fueled by adrenaline and passion, the lyrics explore the frantic feeling of obsession set to punchy guitars and drums.
Next up, "Espejo" seamlessly fuses emo and Latin influences with acoustic Spanish guitar and lyrics in both Spanish and English. A collaboration with Mexican artist El Santi, this alt-rock standout was also produced by Pedrero. The bilingual lyrical approach broadens the tune's accessibility and emotional resonance.
Shifting to a dreamy vibe, "Luna Azul" combines emo-pop stylings with more smooth Spanish guitar sounds. Love Ghost partnered with Mexican acts Helian and MONDE for this breezy tune accentuated by sweeping melodies and lush vocals. Co-produced by BrunOG and MONDE, the song has a vibrant yet introspective energy.
Closing out the set is "Wallflower," a stripped-back acoustic ballad embellished with modern synth flourishes. The vulnerability and passion in the vocals shine through beautifully in this production by Pedrero.
Across the 4 genre-spanning tracks, Love Ghost takes fans through high-energy pop punk, bilingual rock fusions, dream-pop reveries, and emotional acoustics. "The Speed of Dreaming" is a stirring EP that burrows into the unconscious mind.
